Ben was awarded the Jerwood Sculpture Prize in 2001, and has recently installed a powder-coated steel sculpture commissioned for the new Jerwood Gallery Hastings (2012). He has produced sited sculptures for clients including the Arts Council, Commissions North (2005), and La Asociación para el Desarrollo Integrado del Cabo Peñas (2009).
Other projects include the collaborative work Swansong (Schwanengesang) with the Centre of Attention, which was shown at Mousonturm, Frankfurt (2004) and Always a Little Further, Venice Biennale, Italy (2005). He has had work commissioned by the British Art Medal Society (2011), and several of his drawings are published in the book Drawing Projects: An Exploration of the Language of Drawing (2011).
Ben Carpenter has work in public collections, including: The British Museum, The University Museum of Bergen, Norway, University of the Arts, London, and the Jerwood Foundation, as well as private collections in the UK and Europe.
